5 Ramadan 1431


5 Ramadan 1431 - Grave visiting (Ayah, Tok Amir and Father in Law)
Its been 4yrs, since ayah left us. I still remember him the same way ... his cheeky smile, his snoring, how he scolded me wen i'm in the wrong ... I miss him a lot ... I hope he is proud of me, i tried my best to keep the family together ... I really hope my brothers end their war soon, 1 is stubborn the other is hot tempered. But Alhamdulilah they have not been fighting lately.

I been following Kak Rima's blog. So I took the courage and try one of the kuih recipe. My hubby loves Putri Salat so I try lar eh. I bought a small loyang tin but wen i wen home it din fit my rice cook punye steamer. Improvise lar sikit, I use the wok instead. End product ... It looks very ugly, smells familiar, texture pun macam ok like dat but the look ... gone case ... hahhaha ...
den i realised wen kak rima ask "did u wrap penutup kukusan dgn towel tak?? " I was like oooooooh nak kene wrap the cover hee hee ...

=D i took the recipe from kak rima's blog. I half all the portion cos I have a small tin.

Ingredients
Topping
250g sugar
6 eggs (abt 60g each)
60g flour (I added 5g more)
10g sago or corn flour (I used corn flour and added 5g more)
750ml thick coconut milk (i used KARA 350g and add 400ml water)
pinch of salt
1 tbsp pandan paste
a few drops of green colouring
one or two drops of rose essence (i added)

Method
Stir eggs and sugar until well combined. Add the coconut milk and the rest of the ingredients. Strain the batter to remove any lumps.
Cook it over low heat till slightly warm... stirring it occasionally so as to avoid any lumpy batter..
Scratch the surface of the steam rice lightly with a fork. Pour in the batter on top of the rice. Steam over medium heat for an hour or until set.
Set it aside to cool completely before cutting into serving pieces.

Insya-Allah I wil try again soon. Practice makes perfect. Maybe on the weekend I make for my ibu pulak lar.

2 Ramadan 1431

2 days of sahur ... felt easier to wake up in the morning hee hee ... Hubby cannot eat rice in the morning so we had bread .... again ... =D
Black pepper Sausage with Cheese and Hot Milo

For iftar I cooked Black Pepper Beef Horfun. Too excited, I mixed the Hor Fun with the gravy. While waiting for Azan the Hor Fun soaked all the gravy so jadilah Dried Black Pepper Beef Hor Fun. gitu citernye. and not forgetting my super chilled bandung ... fuuuuuhhh ... sejuk tekak best!!!

Bahan-Bahan:
500 gm hor fun
200 gm daging (dihiris)
1 biji cili benggala hijau (dihiris)
1 biji cili benggala merah (dihiris)
200 ml stok ayam
2 sudu besar serbuk lada hitam
2 sudu besar tepung jagung + air
2 sudu besar kicap cair
1 sudu besar kicap pekat
1 sudu besar sos tiram
2 ulas bawang putih (diketuk)
Garam secukup rasa
Cara:
Panaskan kuali & goreng hor fun dengan kicap cair selam 3 minit.
Angkat & bubuhkan dalam pinggan.
Panaskan minyak masak.
Tumiskan bawang putih & lada hitam.
Masukkan daging & cili benggala.
Apabila daging empuk, masukkan stok ayam, kicap pekat, sos tiram.
Garam & sedikit air.
Pekatkan masakan ini dengan bancuhan tepung jagung.
Tuangkan ke atas hor fun tadi & hidangkan.

Alhamdulilah ... Dapat lagy kiter jumpe Ramadan tahun ini. Ilah harap memperbaiki diri ilah di bulan yg suci ini hopefully Ilah diberikan kesihatan dan tenaga untuk buat ibadah...
So marilah kiter samer2 mengambil kesempatan ini berdoa dan melakukan amal ibadah bersungguh2 dan ikhlas...semoga diampunkan segala dosa dan mendapat pahala Insya-Allah....Selamat menjalani ibadah puasa semua!


Day 1 of Sahur: Fish Finger with Hotdog bread.


Day 1 of Buka: Roti Kirai and Kari ayam

Roti Kirai aka Spider Web


Ingredients:
1kg tepung gandum
300 ml susu cair (sejat) - [I used 1/4 can of carnation evaporated milk]
950 - 1000 ml air
3 biji telur
3 sudu teh garam (atau ikut rasa)
sedikit pewarna kuning
Method:
Semua bahan disatukan, kacau rata2 lalu ditapis.
Panaskan kuali leper, sapukan minyak sikit dan mulalah "merenjis' atau 'mengirai'.
Sesekali sapukan minyak atas kuali tadi. Ambil dua keping roti renjis ini, tangkupkan dan lipat.
Kari Ayam
Ingredients:
1 ekor ayam dibersihkan, dibuang kulit & dipotong 8 atau 12 kpg
2 biji bawang besar }
4 ulas bawang putih }
1 inci halia } ...... dikisar halus dgn sedikit air
10 sudu besar (bumbung) serbuk kari BABAS
1 biji bawang besar (hiris)
5 kuntum bunga cengkih
3 kuntum biji pelaga
2 inci kayu manis
minyak secukupnya
200 ml santan (1 kotak) - [I omit this]
3 biji kentang (belah 4)
2 biji tomato (optional)
Tomato Sauce
1 batang serai (dititik)
Daun Kari
Daun Ketumbar
garam secukup rasa


Method:
Panaskan minyak dalam periuk. Tumis bawang besar hiris, serai dan rempah campak hingga bawang layu.
Masukkan daun kari, bahan kisar yg telah dicampur dgn rempah kari tadi dan kacau rata. Tumis hingga rempahnya garing dan naik bau.
Kemudian masukkan ayam, secukup air (2-3 cawan), garam dan separuh santan tadi. Kacau2 sebentar dan biarkan ayam hingga setengah masak, lalu masukkan kentang.
Bila kentang dan ayam hampir masak, masukkan lebihan santan tadi bersama tomato. Kecilkan api dan biarkan kuahnya mendidih sebentar (5 minit) sebelum ditutup api.
Garnish dgn daun ketumbar.

To Ibu with Love

Saturday 7th August. I met Kyn for Breakfast at Banquet. Its been a long time since we last go out with each other. Kyn was one of my Sec Sch fwen but she's more then dat to me ... she's a sister i never had... we try to be there for each other. this is a fwen u wan to keep for life. We've been fwens for 15yrs and never did once we argued... debate yes ... argue ... upset with each other ... no ... our mother's are loving too ... i miss those days where I hang out at her house talking with mak ... playing with uddyn... uddyn is kyn's nephew... anyway ...

after dat we took bus to Yishun MRT. Nurul was worried dat i lost my way ... she gave me a beep to check on me ... hahhah ... i realised im dat blur even my hubby dun trust me to go out on my own ... cos i always ... ok lar not always ... but often lost my way ... haiz ... I told her I'll be meeting kak rima @ the MRT station instead hahahah ...

Its my first time meeting kak rima ... im suprise she looks small and young and she has a teenage son ... i look was bigger den her. she was nice to bake for me the cake for my mom ... was so happy ... me and kyn took the train to Bishan continue with circle line ...

Ibu was ironing Oyin's skool uniform wen we arrived ... she was suprised dat kyn came cos its been along time she came to ibu's house... she stopped ironing ...

Happy Birthday yg kedua kali hahahaha ... she was laughing eh amik gambar amik gambar ... she was like eh eh cantik the cake dia ... eh eh kotak cake simpan cantik nye .... she cant stop her senyum kambing ... hahahah she and my arwah ayah has the same smile ... senyum kambing gitu



Kak Rima gave us Opera cake for testing ... sedap sey ... my lil bro ate 1 pc on his own ... the other pc i share with ibu and kin...







My mom was so funny boleh2 dia nak letak jugak the Happy Birthday punye sign ...-_-'''






We had lunch at 4.30pm hahhaa ... ibu cooked ayam masak kitchap and oso salad ... tada ... ibu's cooking is always the best!!!
